AutoWear is a Tasker plugin. It shows screens, notifications and other content that you design in Tasker on your Wear OS watch, and sends your watch interactions back to Tasker on your phone.
Location
AutoWear can get your watch’s location when one of your Tasker commands contains the <location> or <location-assisted> tag. It needs the Location permission on your watch for this. Because your automations can run while AutoWear is closed or not in use, AutoWear can also get your location in the background. AutoWear only reads your location at the moment a command asks for it. It uses precise (GPS) location, or approximate location when GPS isn’t available. The location (latitude and longitude) is sent to Tasker on your phone so your automation can use it.
- AutoWear never stores your location, sends it to any server, or shares it with third parties. It never uses location for advertising, and it never sells it. What happens to the location after it reaches Tasker depends only on the automations you create.
Heart rate
AutoWear can read your heart rate on your watch when one of your Tasker commands asks for it. It needs the Heart Rate permission for this (the Body Sensors permission on older watches). It can also read heart rate while the app isn’t open, so automations work in the background. AutoWear only reads your heart rate at the moment a command asks for it. The value is shown on your watch and, if your automation uses it, passed to Tasker on your phone. AutoWear does not read any other health data.

Trial
- If you sign in to start a trial, your email address will be sent to a server so that the date of the trial can be checked.
Data retention and deletion
- Data retention: AutoWear does not store location or health data; each value is used once and then discarded. Your trial email address is kept on the trial server [STATE A REAL PERIOD, e.g. “for as long as your trial license exists”]. Otherwise the app will not keep any personal information.
- Data deletion: AutoWear keeps no location or health data, so there is none to delete. To delete the email address stored for your trial, send a request to [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL] from that address and it will be removed within 30 days. You can also uninstall AutoWear at any time to remove all app data from your phone and watch.
